The Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the military wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, denounced the criminal leaders of the occupation and their sentencing of Comrade Ahmad Sa'adat. The Brigades emphasized that this sentence only demonstrates the fascist, racist nature of the state of the occupation, and called upon all of its fighters everywhere to be on the highest level of alert to respond to the crimes of the occupier.
The AAMB statement, issued on December 25, 2008, stated that the Brigades would continue their struggle against the occupier and that the occupation's injustice against Comrade Sa'adat would do nothing to stop the resistance.
Furthermore, AAMB stated its loyalty to Comrade Sa'adat and declared that the occupation and its leaders would pay the price for their crimes. AAMB declared that all of its fighters are at the highest state of alert and would respond to the occupation and its crimes against Comrade Sa'adat and all of our prisoners and all of our people.
As part of the response to the illegitimate sentencing of Comrade Sa'adat, AAMB targeted dozens of Zionist settlements and military sites with Sumoud missiles and mortars. AAMB bombed a gathering of tanks near the gate of the Gaza International Airport east of Rafah, with four 90mm mortar shells at 12:12 AM, and shelled the settlement of Sderot and the western Naqab with four Sumoud missiles at 9:30 AM, and then the Erez military based with 80mm mortars at 9:50 AM, and shot four Sumoud rockets at Nahal Oz at 10:50 AM.
The settlement of Sderot was bombed on Thursday morning with Sumoud rockets and in the afternoon again with two Sumoud rockets and then, the military airstrip with 100 mm at 11:30 AM. AAMB fired 3 90mm mortar rounds at Sofa, east of Rafah, at 12:41 PM. AAMB fired three Sumoud rockets in conjunction with the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades at Sderot, where the fighters were fired at with an enemy surface-to-surface missile ancd fire was exchanged. The fighters then fired four Sumoud rockets at Sderot and the Western Naqab at 1:45 PM and then four more Sumoud rockets at 1:55 PM.
AAMB stated that these operations come in solidarity with Comrade Sa'adat and as part of a campaign to uphold our steadfastness and our struggle against the tyrannical occupier, and stressing its rejection of the illegal trial. It announced that it was launching a military campaign to achieve Comrade Sa'adat's freedom. It also declared to the leaders of the Zionist occupation that their threats to invade Gaza would fail before the steadfastness of our people, saying that our fighters are prepared to respond to their crimes and call them to account.
